Philip Anselmo makes child’s dream come true at tour kickoff

anselmoThe Philip H. Anselmo “Technicians of Distortion” tour isn’t even two days old yet, and it’s already becoming one for the ages. It started out with a surprise show the day before the tour kicked off. And last night, the first night of the tour, Anselmo helped make a child’s dream come true. During the Tulsa show, a young metal fan named Peyton came up onstage to play the Pantera classic “Walk” with Anselmo and his backing band, the Illegals. It was done via the Make-A-Wish foundation, an organization that grants wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. The kid has a solid sense of rhythm, and was able to hang with the band, while realizing a dream of his. Even Anselmo seemed overcome, stating via his Instagram account:

Making Peyton’s wish come true! He wanted to play “Walk”! He’s a really great player & an awesome kid….#makeawishfoundation

Check out the video below, and if you’re interested in seeing Anselmo (sans Peyton), here are the remaining dates of the tour.
