In a development to the Morgan Harrington case, police have linked forensic evidence gathered in the investigation of her slaying to a sexual abduction in 2005 in northern Virginia. Harrington went missing in Richmond in October after becoming separated from her friends outside a Metallica concert. Her body was found several months later on a remote farm in Charlottesville, VA.
In the earlier case, a 25 year-old woman was grabbed from behind in Fairfax, taken to a pool area in a townhouse complex, and sexually assaulted. Investigators have determined that her killer likely knew the area where her body was found, since it was so remote and removed from any roads. Apparently, Harrington’s bones were shattered, and a “wealth of physical evidence” was found at the site. Her parents have stated that the “day of reckoning is coming” for their daughter’s killer. We can only hope. A sketch of the suspect from the initial crime can be seen here.
