Former Alice In Chains bassist Michael Starr was reportedly arrested yesterday (February 17) in Salt Lake City, Utah for alleged drug possession. Starr was arrested when police officers pulled over his van and found six Opana pills (a semi-synthetic opioid analgesic) and six Alprazolam pills (used to treat anxiety disorders and panic attacks), neither of which he had prescriptions for. It is currently unclear as to when Starr’s court hearing will be.

This is unfortunate news to hear for many reasons, but mainly because Starr recently starred in the third season of the VH1 reality series Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew, where he received treatment for heroin addiction in addition to appearing on TV. Starr was a founding member of Alice In Chains, but parted ways with the grunge group in 1993. The bassist has also been involved in previous legal trouble including DUI charges, reckless driving, and various drug charges. Guess this goes to show you that a reality TV show sometimes isn’t enough to help get you clean. We will keep you posted if more is revealed or confirmed.
