Why should major label bands be the only ones who get love? Unsigned & Streamed is a column where we stream a song from an unsigned band we at Metal Insider really dig.

This week, we’re pleased to showcase Thrown To The Sun from Istanbul, Turkey. Since forming in the winter of 2010, this five piece group has made a name for themselves in the Turkish metal scene. And after creating buzz from the songs they posted online, the band finally self-recorded and released their debut album Of Oceans and Raindrops for free via their website this past November. Thrown To The Sun’s progressive death metal sound mashes Opeth’s blackened touch with early At The Gates’ brutal dissonance. So without further ado, give the song “Burning Circle,” off of Thrown To The Sun’s debut album, a listen in the stream below.

Thrown To The Sun have dates scheduled in the upcoming months. The band has also already started working on material for a new album. You can download Of Oceans and Raindrops and stay updated on their upcoming plans via Thrown To The Sun’s website and Facebook page.
