Due to travel for both business and pleasure, this week and the next few may be shorter than desired.

Wow I’m tired. I spent this past weekend at Sonic Temple Festival, the rebranded Rock on Range, in Columbus, Ohio after buying a last minute weekend pass the day before the festival. Not going to go deep into it due to time, but I had a lot of fun. Glad I finally got to see System of a Down and Ghost, I got there just in time to get up front as I came directly from work in Pittsburgh. We got up right against the rail after Halestorm and stayed there, right in front of the sign language stage. And here is where I shout out the silent heroes, the awesome lady and gentleman who were signing at the main stage each day. They were trading off and on between bands, and although I don’t know sign language it was still blast to watch them perform with the music, and handle all the between song banter. Saturday was hot, heavy, and all kinds of exhausting. Gojira easily had the craziest crowd, and deservedly so. Guitarist Christian Andreu took some pyro to the face, and toughed out the rest of the set like a champ. Lamb of God killed it, and I was dead by Papa Roach and Disturbed but stuck it out against the barrier still. Sunday was a little rough, windy and rainy. They didn’t even open one of the stages, and ultimately ended up evacuating. Although I’ll give them credit, they gave it longer before kicking everyone out and let people in faster than last year’s mess, I just decided to drive home and skip out on the last few acts. And then… Chicago. I’ll include some thoughts of that in next week’s N&N. For now I need sleep.
