Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Tim Tymo of TYMO as he’s been spending this time practicing.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

We have been busy getting The Art Of A Maniac ready and practicing amongst ourselves. We have had a lot of time to practice and sharpen our skills as musicians. Other than that, Netflix has been used a lot during this pandemic.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I’m not sure about Nick, Harlen, or Marc, but I have been listening to a lot of Hans Zimmer and John Williams during the pandemic. Especially the Star Wars soundtracks! It has a feeling of loss and chaos, which felt very relevant at the time!

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking, including making their own bread. What food have you been prepping during this time?

I have been so bad during this pandemic. Skip The Dishes have been showing up on my bills a lot! I have recently begun cooking to correct my bad habits from the past year. ITYMO –  can cook some really good chili!

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

Nick and I have been rewatching Breaking Bad, which is a show that always has to be revisited! I know Harlen has been watching The Mandolorian, and Marc is always a mystery. He’s the Neal Peart of the group, and he just happens to be the drummer. I also revisited Trailer Park Boys during the pandemic, which makes me proud to be a Canadian.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Try to stay away from the news and focus on the things that make you happy! Keep your mind occupied and find an outlet to pass the time. Learning a new skill or trade is definitely a healthy way of passing the time during this pandemic. Everyone is different, but these things have helped me through the pandemic!
