Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine: The Design Abstract – “I believe in you all”

Posted by on November 5, 2021

Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with The Design Abstract as they spent this time working on new music.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

We mostly just threw around new song ideas and recorded when we could!

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I don’t really do the playlists thing, but I started looking through Soilwork’s back-catalog as I quite liked Verkligheten.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking, including making their own bread. What food have you been prepping during this time?

Nope, the only new skills I learned involved how to better produce and mix fake drums. and I got better at bass.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

None to speak of, or none that I recall. I just worked on albums!

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Nothing that doesn’t sound overly pretentious or preachy. I believe in you all.
