Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Nahaya vocalist Jake Wayman as he’s been spending this time listening to a lot of music.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

I’ve been listening to a lot of music and watching a lot of movies to pass the time. I’m always writing lyrics and preparing things for future musical releases as well.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

The newest Oceans of Slumber record is pretty sick. I’ve been jamming a lot of the newer death metal bands coming up right now like Frozen Soul, Sanguisugabogg. I’m also always listening to ambient music from labels like Cryochamber, Cyclic Law and Cold Meat industry. Classical music and lofi beats are also a part of my daily listen as well.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

I don’t cook more than the basics, steaks and potatoes etc.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

The Haunting of Bly Manor was a pretty decent show I caught. The Little Things and The Invisible Man were a couple of movies I vibed with. As far as games I played a lot of Warzone, Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid. And when it comes to books I was reading through Food of the Gods and Meditations on the Mat.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Try and take it easy. Listen to some of your favorite music and enjoy a nice break from the world. If you’re the creative type, then create!
