Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
This is more like the Metal By Numbers you’re used to seeing, now that albums are actually coming out. They’re noteworthy ones too, featuring everything from a covers EP to a album to a debut from a yet another new supergroup featuring a member of Mastodon. As always, you can check out what’s coming out this week and, by extension, what sales you’ll see here next week on our New & Noteworthy column, which has has been taken over by D. Zachary Fehl.
Halestorm always pulls big numbers, but it’s still impressive to see an EP of covers landing in the top 5.
Ice Nine Kills, Safe is Just a Shadow (Re-shadowed and Re-recorded) (Self-Released)
A top 50 debut is pretty good for a self-rerelease of the band’s sophomore album.
Nightwish, Vehicle of Spirit (Live at Wembley) (Nuclear Blast)
This is the band’s fifth live album and features two shows from their most recent tour.
This is back in the top 10 after dropping out last week. It’s over 540,000 sold, and two weeks in is also the tenth-biggest seller of 2017.

Highly Suspect, The Boy Who Died Wolf (300 Entertainment)
#109 (from 111)

A 29% drop.

The Pretty Reckless, Who You Selling For (Razor & Tie)

I must have missed when when it debuted about a month ago.

This got a 21% boost from the same tour.
