Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

The ball is finally rolling in 2018 with a trio of black metal releases and one metal video game album. Lots more releases are coming up in January and we’re also getting some big announcements for more releases down the road. For example, Between the Buried and Me announced today the first of two albums coming relatively soon in March. I can’t hide my bias in being excited for that. Hell, I’m even interested in hearing the new Machine Head album coming soon that everyone seems to hate.
