Most clowns make a little money on the side by doing children’s parties and making balloon animals. Not M. Shawn Crahan. I guess not being on the road with Slipknot must be getting to him, as the percussionist has agreed to direct “We Are,” the first single from Hollywood Undead’s third album, Notes From the Underground. Crahan, who we’ll refer to from now on as “clown,” has directed a handful of videos for Slipknot, as well as the band’s 2005 DVD Voliminal: Inside the Nine.
“We are very excited to be working with someone that thinks as progressively about their art as we do,” Hollywood Undead’s Da Kurlzz says. “Clown is a great director, and together we are going to deliver something truly memorable.”
Yes, a press release quotes someone named “Da Kurlzz.” When Slipknot finally get back together to record another album and report about what they did on their Summer vacation, there’s gonna be at least one embarrassed member. Notes From the Underground will be released in January.
