Brenna Gray, the widow of late Slipknot bassist Paul Gra,y may finally get justice following the passing of her late husband. Paul died in May 2010 from a drug overdose. If you remember, his doctor, Daniel Baldi was tried (and acquitted) of multiple involuntary manslaughter charges, some involving Gray. Brenna had filed a civil wrongful death suit in the state of Iowa (where Gray lived and died). And while some may have thought that suit would hold up, it was ultimately dismissed because it was filed too late after Gray’s death. Apparently, Iowa law states a wrongful death suit must be filed no later than two years after the victim’s death. Brenna filed in 2014. Now, in 2016, The Des Moines Register is reporting that the case is set to to be heard before the Iowa Supreme Court, with the potential to overturn the two year statute. It would be a big win for Gray’s estate.
