Last week, we speculated about King Diamond playing the classic album Abigail in its entirety, after the band shared a picture of the album cover art captioned: “ATTENTION EVERYONE!!! Keep an eye out for some major news on August 3rd.” Well, today is August 3rd and we were right!
The band will head on a new tour this fall with the support of Exodus, performing the 1987 album in its entirety. Considering the band just finished touring with the now-extinct Mayhem Festival, the only way to make the announcement attractive for the fans was to do a special set and what’s better than this? A Mercyful Fate reunion, I know, but this is still good enough.
Exodus’ frontman Steve “Zetro” Souza states:
EXODUS is truly honored, excited and flattered to share the stage with King Diamond, and his amazingly talented band! I remember in ’86, we performed some shows together and they were everything you’d expect a King Diamond and EXODUS show to be! Don’t miss this – it’s going to be epic!
The tour will hit the third edition of Philip Anselmo’s Housecore Horror Film Festival, taking place between November 13- 15 with King Diamond headlining on the first day of the festival. For the rest of the stops, check the dates below:
