During a recent interview with PE.com, bassist and professional chin-licker, Gene Simmons, revealed that he has new music already written for a new album expected to be recorded next year, contrary to what Paul Stanley declared earlier this year about not having the need to release a new KISS record. Simmons declared the following:
Paul may think there’s not going to be another record; I suspect there will be. We never force the issue. There is no one to answer to except our own gut. I recently wrote a song called ‘Your Wish is My Command’ and it feels like Kiss. It came out pretty easy. When there’s enough material, we’ll look at each other and say ‘you wanna?’
KISS’ latest album Monster was released in 2012 and this is the first confirmation from the band actively working on new material for a proper release but a few months ago, KISS was part of a new Scooby-Doo movie called Scooby-Doo & KISS: Rock And Roll Mystery where they included a new song for the soundtrack called “Don’t Touch My Ascot.”
Considering Simmons says the new song “feels like KISS” I can’t expect anything that overwhelmingly interesting but I’m sure many will be excited about it so go ahead and tell your mother her favorite rock band will be back with new music next year and to set aside some of her retirement savings to catch them live, because if there’s something we know about KISS is that they will never go away.
