After signing a deal with Napalm Records back in February, it was announced that Satyricon would be releasing a DVD, Live At The Opera, which was a recording from 2013 with the Norwegian Opera Choir.  That came out this past May, and the band is already hard at work on two albums!

Drummer Frost broke the news on the ambitious undertaking in a new interview with Metal Wani:

“We are working on two albums simultaneously now – a cover album and a new studio album. I guess that we have never done so many new musical discoveries in such a short time as we have done lately. That in turn is helpful for motivation and inspiration.”

A new studio album would be their first since 2013s self-titled effort with Nuclear Blast. Their recent Live at the Opera sold 400 copies here in the US in its first week of release.
