After four albums, three of which were on Prosthetic Records, Savannah quintet Kylesa have signed with Season of Mist Records. The sludgy, psychedelic band have already started working on writing their fifth proper album, the follow-up to last year’s Static Tensions. The band starts recording at The Jam Room in Columbia, SC in May and will end in July.

“We’re very happy to announce our new partnership with Season of Mist for the next Kylesa release, which we are hoping to get out later this year.” said the band.  “We are stoked to be working with SOM on this next album. They are a forward-thinking label and they have all been very accommodating and a pleasure to work with.”

Between Cynic, The Dillinger Escape Plan and now Kylesa, we’re really digging what Season of Mist are doing. They’re picking up some forward-thinking bands that still have plenty left to do with their careers, and it should be interesting to see both how the new Kylesa does and who the label signs next. Kylesa will be touring Europe until early May, when they’ll head into the studio.
