Sock Puppet Parody are back once again, and this time, they needed at least 4 1/2 pairs of socks, because they covered Slipknot. Are you ready for Socknot’s “Wait in Bleach?” The group/collective are definitely good at what they do, and if you find sock puppets covering stocking-themed metal songs with lots of attention to detail, then you’ve already enjoyed their Metallica, Rage Against the Machine and Slayer parodies. Here’s what the press release says about it:
“When socks are used as rags, they’re liable to go insane. These socks have reached their tearing point. Now they’ve snapped and formed the ultimate garage band, SOCKNOT! The band is made up of misfit socks that have been all but used up. Frayed by the constant abuse, they have channeled that insanity into their hit single, ‘Wait And Bleach’. This mosh pit of insanity hits you like a washboard and doesn’t let up.”
Slipknot were ripe for a parody from the collective. Is it stupid? Kind of. Is it well done? Yes, especially if you like sock puppets with masks on them. The best thing is that it doesn’t matter whether it’s a sock puppet version of Jay Weinberg, Joey Jordison or Allessandro Venturella, because it’s Socknot, not Slipknot.
