We’ve long debated whether or not Ozzfest would ever return to the U.S. Well, now you can travel south of the border for what could be considered a new take on Ozzy Osbourne’s traveling festival.
It’s been announced that the Osbourne clan are launching Ozzfiesta, an all-inclusive, five-day event taking place from May 27-31 next year at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Concluding with a headlining performance from the Prince Of Darkness himself, Ozzfiesta will also feature a dinner party hosted by Sharon Osbourne (included in select room packages), an opening night “Welcome Party” featuring anacoustic set by Zakk Wylde, a full set from Black Label Society, a Q&A session with Ozzy and his band, a Comedy Club Night with stand-up sets from Jim Norton and Jim Florentine, a Charity Golf Tournament benefitting The Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program, and Osbourne Movie Nights, with much more to be announced.
Tickets for Ozzfiesta go on sale Friday, October 17 at 10 EST at www.ozzfiesta.com. And if you assumed that a festival taking place at a five-star resort wouldn’t be cheap, then you assumed right, with ticket prices starting at $1,899 per adult, $499 for children (4-17) and $100 for toddlers (newborn-3). The first 500 rooms sold, though include a meet and greet with Ozzy. While it’s definitely pretty pricy, it also sounds like it could be a pretty fun getaway for the same reasons why Motorboat sounded like a blast. Plus, there’s probably still a lot more bands to be announced, so this could be the perfect vacation getaway for metal heads (who aren’t really into cruises).
