Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
The fourth album by Suicide Silence is titled You Can’t Stop me, and it’s strangely appropriate. It’s an album of firsts – their first album with Eddie Hermida following the untimely passing of Mitch Lucker, their first album on new label Nuclear Blast, and after today, their first ever top 20 debut. That’s a great move. The only better statistic on the charts this week is that “Weird Al” Yankovic just got the first #1 comedy album on the Billboard charts in 51 years! In other news, Rise Against and Volumes have nice first weeks as well.

The punk band’s seventh album isn’t the best debut they’ve had – that’s actually their last one, 2011’s Endgame, which debuted at #2. Viva le corporate punk!

The near 15,000 chart tally for the band is impressive, but it’s not much more than their last album, The Black Crown, which debuted at #28 with 14,400 three years ago.

That’ll buy a lot of trash at Walmart. They’re surprise, still currently on Warped Tour.
I The Breather, Life Reaper (Sumerian) #127, 2,325 sold
All proceeds go towards hospital bills for their singer! (kidding, at least we think)
Betraying The Martyrs, Phantom (Sumerian) #130, 2,250 sold
Their labelmates in I The Breather did slightly better than them, but it’s not a contest – they should just let it go.
Big Wreck, Ghosts (Zoe) #168, 1,675 sold
The bands fourth full-length sports a cover that seems very Bioshock-esqe.
Novembers Doom, Bled White (The End) 650 sold
There’s enough doom going on in Chicago these days that the band should have plenty of material for their next album.
Grave Digger, Return of the Reaper (Napalm) 500 sold
These Germans are still going strong with album seventeen.

176,000 in five weeks isn’t bad. Plus, you can pick up the album at just about any Mall.
Seether, Isolate & Medicate (The Bicycle Music Company) #42, 7,700 sold
Apparently, you can fight the Seether. A 35% drop this week.

The Warped Tour compilation gets a big boost of 76% thanks to, uh, Warped Tour.
Mastodon, Once More ‘Round The Sun (Reprise) #85, 3,725 sold
52,000 copies sold in four weeks isn’t bad. It’s only about 5,000 less than Seether, even though they’re a lot more metal than those guys.
Chelsea Grin, Ashes To Ashes (Razor & Tie) #27, 3,225 sold
A drop of 68% shouldn’t have them grinning that much.
Avenged Sevenfold, Hail To The King (Warner Bros.) #96, 2,825 sold
Mayhem is keeping sales steady for this one.

A 20% boost brings this a bit closer to breaking 100,000 sold.

These guys have moved a little over 16,000 copies of their album in four weeks.

An 18% boost keeps the sales above the horizon.

A 59% boost brings this back to the top 200.

A shady 5% boost.

Back on the charts after a 25% boost.

This has sold roughly the same as it did last week, which puts them at over 121,000.
Hellyeah, Blood For Blood (Eleven Seven) #196, 1,500 sold
30,000 in six weeks suggests the band is more Damageplan than Pantera.
Five Finger Death Punch, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Vol. 1 (Prospect Park) #185, 1,500 sold
Oh for God’s sake, is this staying off the charts or not? Either way, it’s crossed over 400,000 sold.

A 59% drop isn’t that bad for an album this extreme.

Another slight boost of 2%.

This drops by a steep 82% in week 2.

This doesn’t bare many teeth with a 58% drop.
Get Scared, Everyone’s Out To Get Me (Fearless) 500 sold
Apparently, everyone was out to get this this week with a 60% boost.
Corrosion of Conformity, IX (Candlelight) 460 sold
We’re sure they’re Mullin over tour plans without their drummer.
Rival Sons, Great Western Valkyrie (Earache) 460 sold
A 24% boost brings this up a bit.

A monumental drop of 64%.

A shitty drop of 20%.

A 23% drop in its third week suggests that KISS and Def Leppard fans might still be tailgating when they’re playing.
