Back in 2012, we first heard about Born of the Storm, the project featuring Lamb of God’s Mark Morton, DevilDriver’s Dez Fafara and drummer Kevin Talley, who toured with Battlecross in 2013. We heard two songs, “Dust” and “Nowhere Fast.” And then… nothing. We were pretty psyched for the band, which featured Fafara singing clean, and a grungy, stoner-rockish vibe throughout, but of course Lamb of God got preoccupied and Devildriver put an album out. Suddenly, via Fafara’s and Morton’s Twitter accounts yesterday, a third Born of the Storm track is out there. Like the first two, “Keeping Secrets” is much more accessible than any of the others’ bands. You could pretty easily imagine it being heard on rock radio, where many potential fans of the bands didn’t know the first thing about Lamb of God, Devildriver or Battlecrosss. That’s not a bad thing. That being said, it doesn’t seem like they’re in any hurry to capitalize on the band, as they’ve released the song for streaming and free download here.
Lamb of God, DevilDriver and Battlecross members aren’t ‘Keeping Secrets’
