Slayer Golden GodsRumors started to circulate around L.A. today that Slayer would be making a surprise performance at the Revolver Golden Gods (streaming live online as we write this). Well sure enough, Slayer kicked off the evening with a surprise three song set. But that wasn’t the only surprise they had…

Introduced by Marilyn Manson, Slayer ended its three song set by performing a brand new song called “Implode.” Not only does this mark our first taste of the group’s long-awaited new album, but also the first new material we’ve heard from Slayer since the death of Jeff Hanneman. At this very moment, video of Slayer performing the new song (as well as “South Of Heaven” and “War Ensemble”) has yet to hit the web (give it time). However, if the rest of the new album resembles what we heard tonight, then we can expect a hell of a new album from Slayer this year.

We’ll be bringing you a full rundown of all the winners from the show later tonight, as well as any video of Slayer’s performance as soon as it hits the web. Also check us out via Instagram as we post photos from the show throughout the evening.
