People have previously described Destrage to us as a band that blends Protest The Hero’s offbeat technicality with Every Time I Die’s southern flare. And though it’s hard to pin point their sound to any specific subgenre of metal, we also can’t argue with such a comparison. While the Italian group’s third album Are You Kidding Me? No (out March 4 via Metal Blade Records) is technical enough to wow the pants off of virtuoso players worldwide, it’s also an extremely fun record that’s hard not to find catchy. That’s why we’re happy to premiere a song from Destrage called “Host, Rifles And Coke.”

Destrage shared the following little insight behind the song’s inspiration with us:

“Two of them are priests, ten became soldiers, one is a parliament folk. While all the others pack files in folders to buy them hosts, rifles and coke, spending public money on culture instead of religion, armaments and politics would make this a better place.”

Give “Host, Rifles And Coke” a listen in the stream below. Are You Kidding Me? No can be pre-ordered via Metal Blade’s website.
