Paul D’Amour, former bassist for Tool, will release an album later this year with his new band Lesser Key. The band has signed with Sumerian Records, who have given us a glimpse into their sound with the first released track off the future album.

The song, “Intercession” was released on YouTube via Sumerian . While the bass lines are definitely recognizable, the band’s other members may not be as familiar. Andrew Zamudia, Brett Fanger and Justin Hansen make up the rest of the roster. D’Amour is holding nothing back, reminding you of his signature Undertow playing, with a post-hardcore/prog sound that fits on the mainstream side of Sumerian’s ever-increasing roster. While Tool will not be releasing an album until who knows when, these guys are throwing the same passion into the game while fulfilling your craving for the Tool sound. Check it out above.
