Two things are coming back to New Jersey this fall that will make metal and hardcore fans very happy. In September, Sayreville venue The Starland Ballroom will repoen following nearly a year of being closed due to Hurricane Sandy damage and renovations. And on November 29th, Jersey metalcore faves Nora will be reuniting for a show at the venue, along with Bane and fellow Jersey bands 40 Below Summer, E. Town Concrete and Ten Feet From Murder.
It’s particularly newsworthy that the band is reuniting given what several members of the band have been up to. Singer Carl Severson, who’d been running Ferret Records throughout Nora’s career, is now in charge of Good Fight Entertainment, while guitarist Matthew “Portland” Hay is responsible for a lot of album covers via the design company he founded, Forefathers.
“The other dudes have been playing for the last six months or so, just for fun,” Severson tells Metal Insider. “We’re friends with E. Town and with Adam at Starland [and the] show seemed like a good excuse to get up and make some noise again. We won’t be announcing tours or anything. [We] just want to have some fun with it.”
Nora released three full length albums (and a handful of EPs) on Trustkill Records starting in 1999. Their last album was 2007’s Save Yourself. Tickets will go on sale for the show on Friday.
