First off, USA! USA! USA! is a great name for a band. Regardless of genre, that name slays. There is indeed a band called that, and they’re a pop-punk band in the vein of Sum 41 whose 7-song EP, What’s Your Name, has been available via their Bandcamp site since the beginning of the year. What are we doing writing about a pop-punk band from Boston on Metal Insider? Well, the guitar player of said band is Unearth’s Ken Susi. Known as “Romeo” in USA! USA! USA!, Susi joins a band that allegedly also contains members of Emmure, Bury Your Dead and Arise & Ruin, although there’s nothing confirmed on that yet.
The band has released a video for “Marissa” (each song on the EP with the exception of a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” is named after a girl). The video features a cameo from Every Time I Die’s Andy Williams. The song (and band) are good harmless fun, but if it takes off, then who knows what happens to Unearth. While the band toured as recently as a few months ago, it doesn’t seem like they’ve had a ton going on lateley. USA! USA! USA! isn’t exactly tearing up the road either. Their web site shows two local shows this Friday and Saturday. At any rate, check out the video after the jump.
