It’s become a sad but known fact that many of Roadrunner Records’ staff around the world were getting laid off. One of the many effected by this is senior vice president of A&R Monte Conner, who officially stepped down as of this week. But after twenty years with the label, his co-workers didn’t let him go without inviting a special guest: Troy Norr, vocalist of renowned King Diamond tribute act Them.
And yesterday, Roadrunner posted video of Norr (aka King Santa) delivering some metal parting gifts and singing farewell to Conner. While it’s still sad to see Conner (who helped sign an enormous chunk of Roadrunner’s roster) leaving under such circumstances, it’s still fun watching him and his (now former) co-workers sharing one last fun moment together. You can watch Conner’s visit from Norr on his last day in the video above.
