When we last talked to guitarist Ben Weinman, The Dillinger Escape Plan were in the early stages of working on the follow up to 2010’s Option Paralysis. Now it would appear that the band have a lot of progress on the new album. In fact, they might even give fans an early taste of new material in the form of an EP.
Weinman pondered the idea of releasing an EP yesterday (April 16) via Twitter, saying:
“So anyone think Dillinger Escape Plan should put out an ep. before we release an LP? Kinda feeling like showing you guys what we are up to.”
Of course, such plans have yet to be officially announced or confirmed. With that said, our answer to Weinman would be “YES.” Call us impatient, but the sooner we hear new music from The Dillinger Escape Plan the better. Hopefully, though, this wouldn’t delay the release of Weinman’s Giraffe Tongue Orchestra supergroup, or for that matter frontman Greg Puciato’s project with Max Cavalera. Either way, we’re looking forward to seeing how DEP will top themselves from Option Paralysis.
