Following a week of intense speculation, Arch Enemy have officially revealed their new vocalist, and it’s not who many expected. Rumblings across the metal community suggested a return from former vocalist Angela Gossow, but she publicly dismissed those rumors via Instagram. Today (19th), the mystery ended as the band welcomed Lauren Hart to the lineup, unveiling the new single “To the Last Breath” alongside plans for a summer 2026 European club tour. This makes Hart the official replacement for Alissa White-Gluz, who left the band in November 2025.
For those unfamiliar, Hart rose to the spotlight with Once Human, earning acclaim for her strong vocals and stage presence. Metal Insider revisited the band’s 2015 debut, The Life I Remember, in 15 debut metal albums turning 10 in 2025, noting their early momentum before activity came to a complete halt after the pandemic in 2022. As of today’s announcement, Hart has confirmed her departure from Once Human, which is the first update from the band (more or less) in four years. Hart has also appeared as a live guest vocalist with Kamelot on many occasions. Her arrival signals a powerful new chapter for Arch Enemy.
The new single, “To the Last Breath,” marks the first release since the band’s Blood Dynasty cycle. To celebrate the transition, Arch Enemy will embark on an intimate European club run titled Back To The Root Of All Evil in summer 2026.
Current lineup:
Lauren Hart — vocals
Michael Amott — guitars
Joey Concepcion — guitars
Sharlee D’Angelo — bass
Daniel Erlandsson — drums
Guitarist Michael Amott comments;
“Connecting with Lauren has marked an important step in my journey. Working with her was an exceptional experience — her remarkable voice, coupled with her dedication and professionalism, brings a rare level of excellence. I look forward to continuing the collaboration.
Make no mistake — this song is a reckoning. Musically, it’s unapologetically aligned with my original vision for the band — and I believe longtime fans will recognize that immediately. Lyrically, it’s about seeing through deception and dismantling the illusion of control. It captures that moment when you realize you’ve been fed poison — and you choose to fight back. Once that clarity hits, there’s no retreat. It’s do or die.”
