According to the Brisbane Times, Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale has been fined $350 after an intoxicated attempt at sing this past Sunday night. Stockdale reportedly had a bit too much to drink when he jumped onstage to sing with a local cover artist at a bar in Brisbane, Australia. After the staff had cut him off from service, security asked him to leave. However, the Aussie singer refused and even sat down in the middle of a busy thoroughfare inside the club when security attempted to remove him. Police were then called in, and Stockdale was charged with being drunk and disorderly, failing to leave licensed premises and resisting removal of licensed premises.
So how bad was Stockdale’s drunken singing? Well you can see for yourself, as video of him drunkenly singling “Let It Be” the night of the incident has been posted online. CaptainBloodshot, who posted the video on Youtube, described the event with the following description:
“After sinking a few delicious brews in a fine brisbane establishment, Andrew Stockdale takes the mic away from a cover artist and gives the unsuspecting crowd an impromptu performance of The Beatles Classic ‘Let it be’, straight from the heart. Later he was removed from the stage and subsequently kicked out. What a night.”
While this certainly isn’t average behavior, it doesn’t really match the crazy week bassists just had.
