Paws, Pets & Metal is Metal Insider’s ongoing column on bands with pets, discovering who watches them on the road, and more. Get to know more about these metal furbabies. We caught up with BornBroken’s Mike Decker reveals his cats purrfur attention over listening to music.
Tell us more about your pet(s) and their names?
Sure! I have two pets: “Kittie Kittie” (AKA Simba AKA Meatball) is a Scottish Fold with that adorable, distinctive ear fold. Scottish Folds are known for their sweet and playful nature, and Kittie Kittie seems to take the role of the king of the house, commanding attention and affection.
“MooMoo Di MeowMeow” is a MooCat : MooMoo is a stray cat with a bit of an eccentric streak, thanks to a nervous tick which we fell in love with so we had to take him into our crazy family. MooMoo’s unique quirks add a lot of personality and charm to his behaviour, making him a memorable and lovable companion.
They each bring their own special qualities to your home, and they make for a fun and dynamic duo!
Have you ever taken your pet on tour?
I haven’t personally taken a pet on tour, but that would definitely be an interesting and unique experience! Pets can provide comfort and companionship, and having them around might be a nice way to balance the stress and excitement of touring.
Who looks after your pet while on the road?
My wife and my kids.
What’s your pet’s favorite song or album?
Whenever the music gets too loud the cats want our attention like something bad is happening and they are trying to protect us. So I don’t think they have favourite song per se.
How did you introduce your pet to metal?
By them just coming into our family you have to listen to metal.
What animal charity means most to you?
I help out with designing a calendar for a animal refuge up where I Live
Here is a little except about it:
Refuge RR has been a registered charity since 1990 and was initially created in 1987. While located in Ontario, Canada, we also provide full assistance to the entire province of Quebec. We rescue, rehabilitate, and offer refuge to animals that have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. We often travel vast distances to help animals in need and have experienced, qualified people caring for them here at the Refuge. We rely entirely on your generosity to keep running. We have no paid employees, and 100 percent of your donations and sponsorships go directly to the animals. Join us in our mission to offer refuge, rescue, and rehabilitation to creatures of all shapes and sizes, and help us change the way the world treats animals.
