When singer Chuck Billy let it slip that Testament would be touring with Anthrax, Overkill, and Death Angel this coming Fall, we were ecstatic. One of the Big 4 bands was going to tour with three bands that arguably make up “the other Big 4” (along with Exodus)? Sign us up! Well not so fast, because now you can cross one of those band’s names off of this thrash-tastic bill.

In a new posting on their official website, Overkill confirmed that they will NOT be touring with Anthrax, Testament, and Death Angel this coming Fall. Instead, the band is opting to enter the studio to record their follow up to 2010’s Ironbound. It’s unclear as to whether an additional band will fill the vacant spot, or if Anthrax will just tour with Testament and Death Angel. At this point, though, it’s safe to assume that the remaining three bands are still on board for this tour, especially since Death Angel revealed a few weeks prior to Billy’s slip that an “incredible opportunity” arose for them.

While we know how costly studio time is, it seems crazy that Overkill wouldn’t consider rescheduling so as to take part on this tour. It’s a pretty awesome package and sounds like a great opportunity for Overkill to play in front of larger audiences. Either way, the remaining three bands still make a great lineup, and we’re sure that Overkill will get the chance to tour with them again.
