Goldenvoice’s Power Trip three-day festival officially concluded last night (8th) with Metallica, who skillfully combined selections from their no-repeat weekend setlists into a condensed and masterful sixteen-song set. The set included the requisite “One,” “Master of Puppets,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Enter Sandman,” while trimming down a few tracks from their latest offering, 72 Seasons. The festival, held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA, featured six iconic bands across the three days, including Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden on Friday, October 6th, AC/DC and Judas Priest on Saturday, October 7th, and Metallica and Tool on Sunday, October 8th. From announcements to slip-ups, a lot happened during the three-day event.

Iron Maiden

British heavy metal icons Iron Maiden kicked off the Power Trip festival in Indio, California, on Friday (6th) at 6:45 PM. They deliver a powerful performance following their 15-song set from their ongoing The Future Past Tour, highlighting unperformed tracks from their latest studio album, Senjutsu, selections from the 1986 Somewhere In Time LP, and other timeless classics.

Guns N’ Roses

 

 

 

Guns N’ Roses delivered an exceptional rock ‘n’ roll show, featuring hits throughout their career and paying homage to Sir Paul McCartney’s 50th anniversary of “Live And Let Die.” Despite a 40-minute delay for their headlining performance, the crowd remained calm. The three-hour set showcased stunning video production and lasers, saving pyrotechnics for a climactic finish. These giants mainly focused on the hits and didn’t seem to dive into any newer tunes, such as their brand new single, “Perhaps.”
