For many years, Pragokoncert’s Metalfest in Pilsen (Czech Republic) was regarded a bit as the “little brother” of the company’s main metal festival Masters of Rock in Czechia, however in recent years, the festival has developed a stellar reputation thanks to increasingly impressive lineups and a fantastic location. Taking place at the beautiful Amfiteater Lochotin in Pilsen, Metalfest Pilsen was headlined by acts such as Amon Amarth, Powerwolf and Arch Enemy in 2019, and the re-scheduled edition for 2022 promises to be another event to remember.

 

None other than the legendary Running Wild, headed by mastermind Rock’n’Rolf, will headline the festival in 2022, promoting their new album “Blood on Blood”. However, the remainder of the billing is also quite impressive: While fans of more melodic subgenres will find a lot to enjoy thanks to the participation of bands like Within Temptation, Doro, Battle Beast, Sonata Arctica or Majestica, the festival also has a lot to offer to those who prefer some heavier tones, with acts like Kreator, Hypocrisy, Ensiferum, Heathen or Exumer.
