Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Valfreya vocalist Corinne as she’s been spending this time working on their next album.
What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?
I’ve been pretty busy. We are presently writing music and recording the preproduction of our next album. I am doing a master’s degree in musicology. It takes a lot of my time. I also teach singing lessons (clean and guttural singing lessons). I am part of the Growler’s Choir. I am also a co-owner and a voice actor from The Monsters Factory (we offer an unique expertise in the field of voice-acting destined for many types of virtual monsters and creatures). Everything that I do is related to music or vocology. It helps me to constantly improve myself.
Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?
These days, I listen a lot to Inferi, Fallujah and Ne Obliviscaris.
A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?
I cook my own keto bread, crackers…etc. I am not into desert, but I have a weakness for cheese ^_^ I try to eat less meat and milk products. I find it interesting to change a meal that I already know with vegan options. instead. Creativity is the key!
In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?
I’ve recently read the 3 first books of Dunes. I’ve watched A LOT of TV shows and movies during the quarantine. It would be too long to write it down.
What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?
Go outside even when you don’t know what to do. It helps the mind. Find new options in your life, do not wait.
