The aftermath continues to unfold with Iced Earth/Demons & Wizards guitarist Jon Schaffer’s inevitable consequences after deciding to participate in the Capitol Riots that took place last month on January 6, 2021. Not only did his label, Century Media Records, appear to have dropped both projects, but it also looks as though his Demons & Wizards collaborator, Blind Guardian’s Hansi Kürsch, has decided to quit the band. Germany’s Rock Hard has reportedly received the following statement by Kürsch:
“I notified Jon and Century Media on Monday that I was leaving the Demons & Wizards project with immediate effect. My collaboration with Jon on Demons & Wizards is over.”
Earlier last month, Hansi issued a statement on Blind Guardian’s website expressing how shocked he was by what happened at the Capitol Riots. Schaffer turned himself in to the police on January 17th and is currently facing six charges against him while being extradited to Washington DC. The classic statement, things come in three, seems to be legit with Demons & Wizards as their last album was released in 2020 with their third and most likely final record, III.
