Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
I’ve been writing the Metal By Numbers column for about 7 1/2 years now, and I think it’s about time for change. Something’s been missing from this column and for years I haven’t been able to put my finger on it. Then I heard the song “Yummy” off of Justin Bieber’s new album Changes. That got me thinking about the song “Changes” by Black Sabbath. And then it hit me: we should really be including pop releases on MBN. So from here on out, you’ll be seeing sales numbers from releases from Bieber, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and much more more alongside the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Tool, and Slipknot. I know you faithful readers will greet this change with understanding and grace.
By the way, are we still celebrating April Fools’? Asking for a friend.
