While America is still getting used to the idea of a metal awards show following Revolver‘s foray into the Golden Gods earlier this year, the UK and Metal Hammer have been doing it for years.
Their seventh annual event found Iron Maiden and Slipknot the big winners, each picking up a pair of awards. Iron Maiden won the biggest award of the night, the Golden God award, as well as ‘Best UK band,’ whichthey picked up for the second year in a row. Meanwhile, Slipknot nabbed ‘Best International Band’ and ‘Best Live Band.’ Other winners included Def Leppard, who were named ‘Legends’ by Steel Panther and Roadrunner, which was named ‘Best Metal Label.’ A complete list of winners after the jump.
