The weather wasn’t entirely on Jacksonville, Florida’s side this weekend as day one (3rd) and three (5th) of Welcome To Rockville was hit with a severe weather alert resulting in a change in the set schedule. Thankfully, the city of Jacksonville allowed the festival to extend their curfew to midnight to ensure KoRn would perform on night one and Tool would close out the event on night three.
A few days before the event, guitarist Adam Jones and frontman Maynard James Keenan teased that Tool would perform new music during their spring tour, which kicked off last night (5th). The band kept their promise by premiering two new songs. The first song appears to be the finalized version of “The Descending,” as we heard parts of this track four years ago as well as a sample last year. According to Setlist.FM, the second new song is called “Invincible.” While there’s nothing available on Spotify yet, this is officially the first piece of new music from the band in over thirteen years.
