Machine Head recently announced the 25th Anniversary tour for their debut record Burn My Eyes and have now released a roundtable discussion about the origin of the album. The roundtable was hosted by Metal Hammer‘s Dom Lawson and featured each member participating in the reunion. For the past couple of years, Machine Head’s tours have been “An evening with..” format and the upcoming tour will follow suit.
The shows will be split into two parts: the first part will feature new members, who just auditioned, and play Machine Head’s later songs, such as “Imperium”, “Halo” etc. Part two will feature guitarist Logan Mader and drummer Chris Kontos performing the entire Burn My Eyes record, which has never been done before. Robb Flynn commented:
“Having started rehearsals with Chris and Logan several weeks ago, I’m literally giddy with excitement at the prospect of how much fun this is going to be. Both Logan and Chris are in phenomenal playing shape, the vibe between all four of us has been incredibly positive. Having run through deep cuts like ‘Death Church’ and ‘I’m Your God Now’ for the first time in well over a decade, has reminded me of how fucking heavy our older songs are! This tour is going to be MASSIVE!! The timing couldn’t have been more perfect to share this milestone with the Head Cases! So just a head’s up, DO NOT sleep on this! Tell your friends, spread the word, because tickets are going to disappear!”
Pre-sale starts tomorrow (Thursday 28th) at 10am. Tickets for the general public will be available Friday (29th).
