Lamb of God are about to jump on the road on what could be the biggest metal tour of the Summer. Slayer’s farewell tour is going to be a must-see even for non-Slayer fanatics due to Lamb of God, Anthrax, Testament and Behemoth’s involvement. And while none of the bands except for perhaps Behemoth have any new music coming out in time for the tour, perhaps something old might come out? That’s what we just gathered from a cryptic teaser that Lamb of God just posted, anyway. In the 26 second long black and white clip, we see a dreadlocked gentleman walk from a street into what could well be a rehearsal studio as a drummer plays a beat. Then the Burn the Priest logo appears. The tweet reads “#BurnThePriest xx 3.23.18.”
Lamb of God formed as Burn the Priest in 1994, releasing one self-titled album back in 1999 before maybe releasing that being called Burn the Priest might not be a good long term career plan. While that album was already re-released by Epic back in 2005. Might there be some demo material from back in the day that’s getting unearthed this Friday? We’ll have to wait to find out.
