Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

Rise Against lead another week where a band charts high, but sells less than previous albums. It’s a trend that’s been pointed out a few times this year from Suicide Silence to last week’s Miss May I. That being said, let’s not forget the bands that are doing some of the most impressive numbers of their careers including Suffocation, who landed their best debut with their new album. On another note, I had a commenter asking for Korn numbers, which I happen to have. Just a note: for this column, myself and Bram (who takes over when I’m not around) use the numbers listed on the Top Current Albums and Top New Artists charts. If there’s a band you’re asking after and we don’t post it, it’s just because we don’t have the info. So, for those interested, Korn’s The Serenity of Suffering sold 600 copies and sold around 123,000 in total.
