ovidswitheringOvid’s Withering have been away for a while. After having dropped 2013’s Scryers of the Ibis, the band was working on their sophomore album for Unique Leader, when some allegations last year pretty much blew up the lineup of the band. However, the Tampa orchestral deathcore band are continuing on with the album, continuing to wrap things up with an entirely new lineup. Yesterday, new vocalist Cael Foster introduced himself to the band via their Facebook page. The post is accompanied by a video of Foster singing. It’s pretty interesting to see a band totally reinvent themselves. It will be interesting to find out whether the new album consists of the band playing previously-written material or is all new. From the brief clip, it seems like the music will follow in the footsteps of their first album, and given the fans that it made, there are a lot of people looking foward to it. It looks like we’ll find out this year when Unique Leader releases the album. Here’s how Foster introduced himself:

“I am beyond excited and honored to be the vocalist for Ovid’s Withering! I wanted to tell you all a little bit about myself. I hail from the currently frozen lands of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. Music is something that runs deep in me, as I come from a very musical family. In every generation there has been someone who pursued music. I’ve been a metalhead since I had any taste in music, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Working on this album is a blast, and I can’t wait to show you all what we’re creating. My favorite part has been learning about the characters and conveying their personalities. The Ovdi camp is very busy, and I have been working hard to do my absolute best for this record. The new material is epic, so get pumped and study up on lore!”
