Stoners rejoice! Newly reunited doom metal gods Sleep have announced new dates for this coming Fall. This marks the first time the band has performed together since their two sets at last year’s All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in England, and the first time they done more than one date since disbanding in 1995. The band plans to perform their seminal album Holy Mountain as well as selections from Dopesmoker and more.
Joining guitarist Matt Pike (also of High On Fire) and bassist/vocalist Al Cisneros will be Neurosis drummer Jason Roeder, who is replacing original drummer Chris Hakius. No exact reason is given for Hakius’ absence (who was also in the band Om with Cisneros for a period of time). Either way this is something to be very excited for.
