At this point you might be asking why we don’t just change our name to Ozzy Insider? Well what can we say, the Prince Of Darkness keeps adding on to his already very busy list of accomplishments. Ozzy hit the interview rounds especially hard this past weekend in anticipation of his new album Scream coming out tomorrow (June 22). In one particular interview with the QMI Agency, Ozzy discusses his take on religion, being careful when discussing retirement, Zakk Wylde’s “amicable” departure and the addition of Gus G. to the ranks. Osbourne also told Billboard.com that Ozzfest’s future is really up in the air, saying “if it takes off again, fine. If it doesn’t, that’s also fine because it’s been great for us.”

He goes on further to say:

“I’m really happy we’ve been able to launch new bands into the arena; a good few many bands got success from the Ozzfest. But since we didn’t do it, there have been a few other festivals pop up. There’s not that much dough around. People don’t have that much dough ’cause of the recession. But we’ll see what happens. You never know. It could go, and it could not.”

On top of playing nice with the media, Ozzy also performed an intimate show at the House Of Blues on the Sunset Strip last night. The private concert was open to the first 600 people who stood in line to purchase a copy of Scream and have it signed by Ozzy himself earlier in the day at Amoeba Music. What made the performance a little special, at least in our minds, was that in addition to “Paranoid,” Ozzy performed the Black Sabbath classic “Fairies Wear Boots.” He had mentioned in previous interviews that he had wanted to pull out more obscure Sabbath gems on this upcoming tour run, so it’s pretty cool that he seems to be holding true to his word. Will this make fans more interested to attend Ozzfest this summer? Perhaps. You can see more fan filmed footage from the intimate club performance here, or watch Ozzy and co. tear through “Fairies Wear Boots” above.
