Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
It’s a shorter list of debuts this week, but you could probably use a breather from all the new music, eh? The past few months have been bountiful for metal, and each week continues to bring in more albums from newer bands keeping up their hype, veterans showing they’ve still got it, and bands that are just starting to break out from Bandcamp popularity. It may seem like things are starting to wind down for releases, but as you can tell from this list, it’s not quite over yet.

The band’s new album is their first album of original material since 2008.
The Afterimage, Lumière (Tragic Hero) 420 sold
The band’s new EP debuts on the charts.

A 66% second week drop, but this stays in the top 50.

Still going strong after a 10% drop.
Iron Maiden, The Book of Souls (BMG) #57, 4,100 sold
This booked a 25% drop.
Bring Me The Horizon, That’s The Spirit (Columbia) #58, 4,075 sold
Spirited away by a 17% drop.
Trivium, Silence In The Snow (Roadrunner) #65, 3,900 sold
A 78% drop in week two.
Sevendust, Kill The Flaw (7Bros) #68, 3,750 sold
A 82% drop is flawed, but after last week’s stellar debut, it was bound to fall some.
Breaking Benjamin, Dark Before Dawn (Hollywood) #79, 3,425 sold
Just under 265,000 sold.
