We knew Slayer was shooting a music video at a women’s prison in East Los Angeles, and that it was filled with a slew of actors from classic horror films (like Machete’s Danny Trejo). Now today, on the same day that Slayer’s Repentless comes out, we get the epic music video for the title track.
Said Tom Araya to Rolling Stone,
“We’re telling the story that we’ve always told about society and how humans treat each other. It can get pretty violent. It can get pretty stupid. But that’s OK. That’s human nature.”
We’ve heard this song back in June, along with “Cast the First Stone” last month. But it sure is great to see the band back in a music video, and Kerry King agrees: “I’m probably the most excited I’ve been for a video that we’ve ever done.”
Repentless is Slayer’s first new studio album since World Painted Blood came out in 2009. It’s also sadly the first without guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who passed away in 2013 at the age of 49.
