Megadeth’s debut album Killing Is My Business… and Business Is Good! turns 32 this year and it seems Dave Mustaine is working on re-recording it. The frontman wanted to re-record this album for a special 30-year-anniversary edition back in 2015, however, Dystopia took precedence. Back then he stated,
“It’s not a rumor. It’s the thirtieth anniversary of it, so they wanted to remix it, and… I thought it would be better if we just completely re-recorded it with this new lineup, ’cause I think that would be really exciting, but we were in the process of making the new record.”
In a recent Twitter Q&A with fans, Mustaine hinted the re-recording is in the works, with the current lineup expressing, “we have plans for something with Killing coming up I’m sure you will like.” Another fan assumed, “I imagine a re-recording with Kiko and Dirk…Am I wrong?” Mustaine replied twice with, “well, yes,” followed by, “No ;)”
Additionally, fans praised the new album asking if there will be a live release from the Dystopia tour. The frontman hinted once again with, “We are discussing it and I will confirm as soon as I can.”
Megadeth are touring with Scorpions this fall, and we can only assume that one or the other (or both) might officially be announced between now and then.
