We already know that Stone Sour know their way around a cover from their convincing take on Metal Church’s “The Dark.” It was a little curious that that song didn’t make it onto the band’s forthcoming covers EP, Meanwhile In Burbank…, but the track listing does include takes of songs from Alice In Chains, Metallica, KISS, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath.
The EP, which will be out on Record Store Day, will be pretty hard to get, with only 3,000 copies released worldwide. But today, the band gave a short preview of what their Metallica cover of “Creeping Death” is going to sound like. Of course, if you’ve seen the band on tour in the past year, you might have already heard their cover of the song. From the sound of the 30 second preview below, it sounds pretty faithful to the original, but how outside the box can you go with a classic like “Creeping Death?” Other than this maybe.
Listen to a preview of our cover of “Creeping Death” by Metallica, off of “Meanwhile in Burbank”, available in record stores on April 18th!Limited to 3000 copies worldwide, find a record store near you at www.recordstoreday.com or www.recordstoreday.co.uk #StoneSour #recordstoreday
