Why does it seem like America gets the shaft sometimes when it comes to radio premieres? Granted, there are plenty of good places on radio to hear new music first (SiriusXM and Full Metal Jackie”s show come to mind), but when it comes to bands playing new music on the radio, that doesn’t happen too often. At any rate, Queens of the Stone Age premiered two new songs from …Like Clockwork on Belgian station Studio Brussel by playing them live. Yeah, that’s pretty awesome.
The two songs, “I Sat by the Ocean” and “If I Had a Tail” sound great live, and are instantly identifiable as Queens. Neither song is as bold a departure as the melancholy, dreamlike “I Appear Missing” or as upbeat as “My God is the Sun.” But they don’t have to be. It’s just good to have the band back for the first time in six years. Check out both songs after the jump.
…Like Clockwork is out on June 4th on Matador Records.
