To say that Ghost’s second album is highly anticipated is sort of an understatement. Their debut  Opus Eponymous was awesome and fans have been trying to find out everything they can about this mysterious band. Today, we found out that the band’s next album is nearly finished.

In addition, it has also been confirmed that the album will be released via Loma Vista Recordings. As you may recall, rumors started to spread earlier this year about Ghost’s new label home. While initial reports suggested they signed to Tom Whalley’s Seven Four Ent. imprint, Loma Vista is also founded by Whalley in connection to UMG’s Republic Records. We’ve also learned that Nick Raskulinecz is producing Ghost’s sophomore album. Considering Raskulinecz is a Grammy Award -winning producer known for his work with Death Angel, Deftones, Foo Fighters, and Rush among others, it’s safe to say that this album is in good hands.

We can expect Papa Emeritus (or Tobias Forge, or whoever he is) and his Nameless Ghouls to return with album number two sometime in 2013. Plus, Ghost will be playing a special a concert this Saturday, December 15, in their hometown of Linköping, Sweden at Cupolen, and apparently Papa will bestow a special offering to those who sign up with their email addresses this Saturday beginning at 10pm local time CET. In case you happen to be in Sweden this week, you can buy tickets to the show online.
